The Hudson Bayou Dredging Project is a critical flood mitigation and stormwater conveyance improvement initiative that restores the stormwater conveyance function of one of Sarasota’s oldest urban waterways. This project removes 80,500 cubic yards of sediment to meet the 100-year flood protection standard, addresses chronic bank erosion and uses native vegetation to prevent future sediment buildup.
