2024 Storms Debby, Helene and Milton Recovery Allocation: $210,094,000

About

Resilient SRQ is Sarasota County’s program for its allocations of Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.


Funding is to be used to address unmet needs that occur as a result of a federally declared major disaster.


In January 2025, Sarasota County was identified as a direct recipient of CDBG-DR funds to address unmet needs resulting from 2024 storms Debby, Helene and Milton.

Estimated Timeline of Activities

  • January 2025: HUD publishes guidelines for funding use.

  • January - February 2025: Unmet needs survey available and public meetings take place.

  • March 2025: Sarasota County publishes board-approved draft action plan for 30-day public comment period.

  • April 2025: Sarasota County submits board-approved final action plan to HUD for approval.

  • June 2025: HUD comments and/or approves final action plan and Resilient SRQ programs begin.
